I will admit that I was of the Old School group that just used chlorine and Sodium Bromide to keep the pools algae free. But over the last few years I have really become a big fan of chlorine enhancers. Whether you use borates, Pool Rx, or Phosphates and Enzymes these enhancers have been proven to extend the chlorine level in a pool as well as prevent algae growth. I go over these different types of enhancers in this podcast.
