It is well known that the lower the pH the more effective the chlorine is in a pool. Keeping your pool pH at 7.4-7.6 has always been the ideal range. New research is showing that the Cyanuric Acid in your pool (CYA level) is an even bigger factor of the chlorines kill factor, even larger than the pH level.
